One Month at a Time

Hello there everyone! Things in the Koch household are moving right along, at an amazingly quick pace. When I take a moment to stop and look around I find myself in awe of everything we have, how quickly time has gone by and this underlaying nagging feeling like I need to make some changes. These changes are mostly related to being more efficient, more organized or healthier. My brain gets so scattered with all that I want to do (I literally have lists in five separate places around the house) that I often get frozen at that stage of identifying what I want to change without taking any action. I have been attempting to come up with a way to hold myself accountable in the least overwhelming way possible. When looking for inspiration or guidance the first place that I turn to is the library. I LOVE books.

Here are the books that I have been into this month:

I appreciate the way the Happiness Project book organized what she wanted to change about her life into months. Part of my job is writing realistic goals and creating the steps along the way to help my clients reach those goals. I so often hear myself telling teachers and parents, we need to pick one thing, let's focus on one thing because it's not realistic to expect change in twenty different areas. However, when it comes to my own life I expect change not just in one area or five areas, no I set myself up for change in twenty areas all at once.

So with some new motivation and resolve under my belt I am going to give this one month at a time thing a shot. After all, I've heard that it takes thirty days to form a new habit. I've narrowed down the month of March to a few themes…so stay tuned and follow along with me as I attempt to give this month to month focus a try.

P.S. What types of books have you all been reading? I'm always on the look-out for some new books to read!
