There seems to be an underlying theme in our lives for the past couple of months. Scott and I have had the opportunity to really sit down and decide what we want out of our lives; in terms of family, personal and business. To define what that means for us and have the opportunity to write down goals in each area. This process has been ever-evolving and has forced us to have some amazing conversations. When defining our goals we had to be honest about what it would take to get there. So we starting talking to people who are much wiser than us to start the process of making our goals a reality. Here is some of what we came up with:
1. Success is not an option.
Success can mean different things to different people at different stages in life. But as my dad pointed out, the most successful people are the ones who viewed success as inevitable. In their eyes, it was never a question or doubt but a matter of WHEN they were going to be successful.
2. You have a choice
Although often times you cannot choose what happens to you, you can choose how you react to and handle the situation. Everyday is a choice; I have a choice to be negative or a choice to be positive. I can let what happened during my day ruin my mood and make me feel hopeless. Or I can choose to be positive and know that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. I can see that I have been blessed beyond belief with an amazing husband and family to walk through any circumstance with. I know that life will continue to throw us challenges but focusing on the negatives will only fuel it's power and make those difficult circumstances that much more challenging to over come. Granted ALL of this easier said than done, but my hope in writing all of this done is that it will serve as a constant reminder to me.
I hope that you are all having a good day and WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER
